Four workers tragically lost their lives after inhaling toxic gas at a chemical plant in Dahej, Bharuch district, Gujarat, according to police reports on Sunday.

The incident occurred at approximately 10 PM on Saturday at the CMS plant of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL). The workers were exposed to leaking fumes from a pipe located on the ground floor of the facility.

“The workers became unconscious due to the gas leakage from a pipe on the ground floor of the company’s CMS plant. They were immediately taken to a private hospital, where all four succumbed,” stated BM Patidar, Inspector of Dahej Police Station, as reported by PTI.

Three workers passed away at the hospital around 3 AM on Sunday, while the fourth worker succumbed at 6 AM, according to officials.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the leak.

This tragic event highlights the importance of workplace safety and hazard management in industrial environments.
