According to statistics published on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, India’s COVID-19 case count grew by 7,584 in a day to 4,32,05,106, with 36,267 active cases. According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 5,24,747, with 24 additional deaths.
The active case tally increased by 3,769 and now comprise 0.08 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.70 percent, the health ministry said. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.26 percent while the weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 1.50 percent.
The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has risen to 4,26,44,092, with a 1.21 percent case fatality rate. The total number of Covid vaccination doses given out in the country has surpassed 194.76 crores so far.
On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It exceeded the 60 lakh milestone on September 28, the 70 lakh mark on October 11, the 80 lakh mark on October 29, the 90 lakh mark on November 20, and the one-crore mark on December 19. On May 4, 2021, India passed the two-crore mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore mark.
