PM Modi Celebrates Diwali with Soldiers in Kachchh
During a visit to Kachchh, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with Indian soldiers stationed near the Indo-Pak border. He distributed sweets to the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy, and Air Force at Lucky Nala, highlighting his government’s commitment to national security.
Strong Message on Border Security
In his address to the troops, PM Modi emphasized that the government will not compromise on any part of India’s territory. “There is such a government in this country that cannot compromise with even an inch of the country’s land,” he stated, reinforcing the resolve of the armed forces.
Focus on Modernization and Infrastructure
PM Modi outlined his administration’s priorities, stressing the importance of developing infrastructure in border areas. He called for the establishment of an Integrated Theatre Command to enhance military coordination and efficiency. The Prime Minister noted that India is on track to achieve this ambitious goal, which aligns with the modern needs of the 21st century.
Self-Reliance in Defense
The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to modernize the Indian military, stating, “We are equipping our armies with modern resources.” He expressed pride in India’s transition from being a weapons importer to a defense equipment exporter, mentioning significant advancements like the domestically manufactured submarines and the Tejas fighter plane.
Strategic Military Developments
PM Modi also addressed plans for new military commands focused on national security. The Defence Ministry is considering establishing a Northern Theatre Command in Lucknow for threats from China, a Western Theatre Command in Jaipur for Pakistan, and a Maritime Theatre Command in Thiruvananthapuram. These reforms would represent a significant shift in India’s military strategy.
Vigilance at the Border
Lucky Nala is part of the marshy Sir Creek area, which presents challenges for patrolling. This region is crucial for border security, as it is often targeted by drug smugglers and terrorists attempting to infiltrate India. The BSF, particularly the Crocodile Commandos, maintain strict vigilance to protect the nation’s borders.
PM Modi has consistently celebrated Diwali with soldiers since taking office in 2014, underscoring his administration’s dedication to the welfare of armed forces personnel.
