CCTV Footage from Hospital Circulated on Social Media
The Gujarat Cyber Crime Branch has launched an investigation after sensitive videos of women patients being examined in a hospital were leaked on Telegram and YouTube. These videos, allegedly recorded from CCTV cameras, show female doctors and nurses attending to patients in closed hospital rooms.
Videos Monetized via Telegram Group
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Hardik Makadia, the accused created a Telegram group linked to a YouTube channel where the videos were uploaded. The YouTube channel, which started in January 2025, contained seven such videos. The Telegram group, active since September 2024, required users to pay a subscription fee to access more footage. To attract new members, the accused shared screenshot previews of similar videos.
Investigation Underway to Identify the Hospital
The police are currently tracing the origin of the videos and identifying the hospital where they were recorded. In one clip, a nurse and a woman patient are heard conversing in Gujarati, helping investigators narrow down possible locations.
Legal Action & FIR Registration in Process
Authorities are preparing to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the individuals involved. The case highlights serious privacy violations and raises concerns over hospital security and patient confidentiality.
The Gujarat Police has urged people to report such content and warned against sharing or engaging with such groups, as strict cybercrime laws will be enforced.
