In Vadodara, Gujarat, an unusual traffic jam was caused not by rain or rallies—but by a fight over golgappas (pani puris). A woman staged a road blockade after claiming that a vendor gave her fewer puris than what she had paid for.
The Dispute Over Golgappas
The incident took place near Sursagar Lake when the woman bought golgappas worth ₹20. According to her, the vendor served only four puris instead of six. Upset with the alleged shortchange, she sat down in the middle of the road and refused to move until she received her “two missing puris.”
Viral Road Protest
Eyewitnesses recorded the scene as traffic slowed down and vehicles tried to pass carefully around her. The unusual protest quickly drew a crowd, with many onlookers filming and sharing the video on social media.
Police Intervention
When police officers arrived, the matter escalated further. The woman broke down in tears, demanding that the police ensure she received her full serving of six puris. For several hours, traffic in the busy area was disrupted due to the street food standoff.
Resolution Remains Unclear
Eventually, the police managed to escort the woman away, restoring normal traffic flow. However, it is still uncertain whether she ever got her missing puris.
