Gujarat ATS Arrests Doctor, Two Others Over Alleged Terror Plot Involving Ricin Toxin

Chemical Weapons Plot Exposed

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a Hyderabad-based doctor and two accomplices on November 9, 2025, for allegedly planning a terrorist attack across multiple Indian cities. Investigators say the suspects were developing ricin, a highly lethal toxin derived from castor beans, potentially intended for large-scale strikes.

Suspects and Their Activities

Authorities identified the main accused as Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, who allegedly collaborated with Azad Suleman Sheikh and Mohammed Suhail Mohammad Saleem. According to police, the trio carried out reconnaissance in Lucknow, Delhi, and Ahmedabad, while also acquiring firearms and chemical materials.

A senior ATS official confirmed that three pistols and four liters of castor oil were seized from the suspects, which could have been used to produce ricin.

Possible Global Terror Links

Investigators suspect that the group had connections with Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), a known international terror network. Officials are continuing to probe whether these plans were part of a broader terror strategy across India.

Ongoing Investigation

The ATS is conducting further searches and interrogations to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy, including the intended targets and additional accomplices. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant as investigations continue.
