Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the ‘Bharat Cool’ festival at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad on Thursday, emphasizing the role of such cultural programs in shaping the future of the nation.

During his address, CM Patel highlighted the significance of showcasing India’s rich art and culture, which helps empower the youth by moving away from a history of colonial mindset. He urged everyone to embrace Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, calling the current period ‘Amritkal’ as a time for national duty and collective responsibility.

The Chief Minister further spoke on the cultural essence of the festival, mentioning the importance of ‘Bhav’, and how values shape both individuals and society. He described the festival as a Triveni Sangam of Bhav, Tal, and Raag, showcasing India’s diverse cultural heritage through performances and exhibitions.

CM Patel reaffirmed the vision of India becoming a developed nation by 2047, stressing the need to introduce the eternal values of Indian civilization to the younger generation. He equated these values to the deep roots of a tree, which are essential for its growth and strength. He called on the youth to actively engage in preserving India’s cultural heritage and national identity.

The Chief Minister also recognized the critical role of the media, emphasizing its value in societal progress and urging a collaborative approach to public welfare. He stated that both the government and media share a common goal of contributing to the betterment of society.

Harsh Sanghvi, Gujarat’s Minister of Home Affairs and Youth Services, congratulated the organizers of the ‘Bharat Cool’ festival, noting that the event provides valuable insights into Indian culture, history, and values for today’s youth. He encouraged more young people to participate in the four-day program, which will cover a wide range of topics including religion, social issues, nation-building, and Indian arts and music.

Sanghvi also pointed out the importance of such cultural programs in strengthening the vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and fostering national unity through awareness of diverse Indian cultures, including Gujarat’s heritage.

Nimsir Kapur, President of the Gujarat Media Club, spoke about the club’s initiatives in promoting Indian culture and providing platforms like the ‘Bharat Cool’ program to connect the youth with the richness of Indian traditions.

The inauguration was followed by a visit to various exhibitions and events, including Shiv Katha and an art photography exhibition. The festival will feature programs such as classical music, theatre, film culture, sculpture exhibitions, Gujarati language education, Indian science and culture, and sports awareness, along with discussions on trade, commerce, and tourism.

Key attendees included Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, MLA Jitubhai Patel, Gujarat Sahitya Akademi Chairman Helesh Jha, and Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Neerja Gupta, among others.
