A Joyful Beginning for Swara and Fahad
Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker is filled with excitement as she prepares to celebrate her first Diwali with her husband Fahad Ahmad and his family in Delhi. The actress shared that this year’s celebration holds a deeper emotional meaning, symbolizing love, togetherness, and cultural harmony.
Swara expressed her happiness, saying she feels truly blessed to host her in-laws for the first time. “This Diwali is very special because Fahad’s family will be celebrating with me in Delhi. I’ve arranged new outfits for everyone and can’t wait to enjoy this festive time with them,” she said with a smile.
Beautiful Memories from Her Childhood
Reminiscing about her childhood Diwali celebrations, Swara shared how the festival was always filled with laughter, light, and family bonding. She fondly recalled making rangoli, lighting diyas, and enjoying sweets after Lakshmi Puja. Laughing, she admitted, “Our rangoli was never perfect, but it always made us happy.”
She also mentioned her love for traditional fireworks like phooljadi, anar, and chakri, while avoiding loud crackers. For her, kaju katli was the ultimate festive treat — “Diwali was the one time we could eat it without anyone stopping us!”
Celebrating Interfaith Love and Unity
Talking about her marriage, Swara highlighted how her relationship with Fahad reflects India’s unity in diversity. She shared that being part of an interfaith family has been a positive and enriching experience. “There’s a misconception that Muslim families are conservative, but Fahad’s family has been incredibly welcoming. They’ve accepted me for who I am, and we enjoy celebrating both our traditions together,” she said warmly.
Swara also added, “I might not fast during Ramadan, but I love sharing iftar with them. And now, they’ll celebrate Diwali with me. It’s a beautiful exchange of love and respect.”
From Glamour to Genuine Celebrations
Once a regular guest at Bollywood’s star-studded Diwali parties, Swara admitted that her idea of the festival has changed over the years. While she enjoyed the glitz of parties hosted by friends like Sonam Kapoor, she now values the peace of home celebrations. “I’ve realized that the true joy of Diwali lies in being around family, lighting diyas, and cherishing simple moments,” she said.
A Festival of Love, Acceptance, and Harmony
For Swara Bhasker, this Diwali represents more than just lights and sweets — it’s a celebration of unity, love, and cultural acceptance. Her journey beautifully showcases how traditions can blend across faiths, making the festival of lights a true reflection of India’s spirit of inclusivity.
